Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced for the Game Boy Advance developed and published by Konami.Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced is a collection of six classic Konami arcade games. The collection includes Frogger, Rush'n Attack, Gyruss, Time Pilot, Scramble and Yie Ar Kung-Fu. The games are faithful recreations of the arcade originals, and they also include special multiplayer modes. Use of the legendary Konami Code also enhances the games' graphics. Unfortunately, the game doesn't feature battery saves for high scores, but Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced is still a fun collection of arcade classics. This video review features video gameplay footage of Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

CGR Undertow DUKE NUKEM ADVANCE review for Game Boy Advance

Duke Nukem Advance review. http:www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http:www.CGRstore.com Duke Nukem Advance review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Duke Nukem Advance for the Game Boy Advance developed by Torus Games and published by Take-Two Interactive. They said handhelds couldn’t have 3D first-person shooters. The Duke wasn’t listening. Duke Nukem Advance is a 3D—that’s right, suckers—shooter on the Game Boy Advance, and even though the novelty of the technology has worn off in the years since its release, the game beneath the surface is still fun to this day. It’s business as usual for the Duke as he blasts aliens in the face and searches for keycards, shotguns and more aliens to blast in the face. The game runs far more smoothly than other 3D GBA shooters—Medal of Honor, we’re looking at you. Duke Nukem Advance offers single-player and local multiplayer play on the Game Boy Advance, baby. This video review features video gameplay footage of Duke Nukem Advance for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

CGR Undertow KONAMI CLASSICS VOL. 1 review for Xbox 360

Konami Classics Vol.1 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Konami Classics Vol.1 for XBox Live Arcade.I know! Let's throw three XBLA games on a disc so they can take up physical space instead of just floating about on the XBLA ether. How about Frogger? It's Konami Classics, so there's gotta be Frogger. (Even though the XBLA version is kinda laughable.) Super Contra? Sure, why not, even if it'll just increase the number of profanities shouted at televisions around the country. C'mon, one more to round out the... what's that? Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? Oh, BY ALL MEANS. I think we've sold it here. (Now we just need a remake of Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and we'll be set.)This video review features video gameplay footage of Konami Classics V.1 for XBox 360 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

Punch King Arcade Boxing GBA Playthrough NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Acclaim's 2002 boxing game for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Punch King - Arcade Boxing. Played through the entire circuit, including the "surprise" end boss, with no losses. I won every fight within the first round. Punch King is another GBA Punch-Out!! clone, and it's another very good one. The graphics are neatly reminiscent of the original arcade Punch-Out!!'s, with the super pixelated, super large fighter graphics, the player character with green hair, the cheesy voice overs. The game plays well except for the really strange and somewhat broken collision-detection. The screen doesn't always center itself exactly the way the fight engine anticipates that it will, so there are times where you can, according to the graphics, be ducking on the other side of the screen from the enemy throwing an uppercut, yet despite standing what looks like 6 feet from one another, it still registers as a hit. With a bit of memorization and practice you can compensate for this by reacting according to the type of punch being thrown rather than apparent relative distance, but it's still really awkward and holds the game back. It's still really fun - it's just super frustrating to learn. That, and notice that green bar that drains stupidly fast every time I press a button? Yeah, that's a stamina bar. I get the want to mimic the Punch-Out!! system by limiting your energy, but the restriction is pretty harsh here, and really slows the fights down until you can get the red KO bar filled. Then the pace picks up and things get interesting - for the five seconds it takes to knock the enemy out. Oh well. Suffice it to say, if you don't like really hard games, this is probably not for you. I've spent a fair amount of time with this one over the years and always found myself coming back, no matter how angry it has the tendency to make me when its not in a good mood. ______ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. game | Konami Collector s Series Arcade Advanced Game Sample GBA

Konami Collector s Series Arcade Advanced Game Sample GBA

There have been many video game compilations made over the years. Some had a few titles, some had many titles, some were just straight ports of games, some were more than just straight ports, some had extra miscellaneous content, and others just contained the bare essentials. In the world of (legitimate) video game compilations and collector series, Konami's GBA "Arcade Advanced" title ranks quite high, but what is it that makes it so great? Is it the games? Well, yes, sort of. While there's no denying that the six games presented in this title (Frogger, Scramble, Time Pilot, Gyruss, Yie Ar Kung-Fu, and Rush'n Attack) are classics in one form or another, this title wouldn't differ from so many others if they were just straight ports (and good ports they are indeed). If that's the case, what else could there be to this game? Well, some games have new multiplayer features, others have new levels added to them, and then others even have "Enhanced" modes with all-new graphics and sounds! They can all be accessed using the famous "Konami Code". Good ports, new multiplayer features, new levels, enhanced graphics and sound in some games, and other miscellaneous game-specific cheats combined with six games that are good on-the-go titles, and it starts making more sense why this game is so cool. This video shows snippets of many of the things featured in this game. Frogger: Ah, good old Frogger. Your objective is simple: Get from one end of the screen to the next without being killed and enter one of five homes. Features an enhanced mode. Scramble: An old shooter where you have to get as far as you can with a depleting fuel gauge and lots of enemies to shoot down. You can drop bombs and shoot fuel containers to refill your fuel. Features an enhanced mode. Time Pilot: A cool game where you fly 360 degrees while trying to shoot down various different attack planes. After defeating the grunts, a boss plane appears. Defeat the boss to win the level and jump to a different period in history. Has a code to implement auto-fire. Gyruss: A classic Konami shooter where you circle around enemies as though you're inside a tube; there are different layers to the tube and enemies show-up or materialize in an attempt to defeat you. They can shoot, but there are also various obstacles too. This game has an enhanced extra stage comprised of three sub-levels (Stage X, Y, and Z) and they are the hardest levels in Gyruss. Completing them takes you back to Stage 1. Yie Ar Kung Fu: A basic, old, compotent fighting game viewed as the basis for future fighting games by some Japanese players. Playing as Oolong, you must use your fancy array of punches and kicks to exploit enemy weaknesses. Oolong can do different moves based on button and direction. The Konami code unveals two secret characters. Rush'n Attack: A cool, old-school action game where you stab and shoot enemies while trying to save prisoners of war. Extras for the game include two new levels. Enjoy.

SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 review. http:www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http:www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 for Nintendo Wii developed by Alpha Denshi and Terminal Reality and published by SNK.SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 bundles together sixteen titles that ruled the roost back in the day, where the "roost" is defined as "That Neo-Geo cabinet in your local arcade." By bundling them together and releasing them on consoles, not only do you have four times the diversity of your usual cabinet, but (most importantly) they don't run on quarters! And that's crucial to point out, because SNK's offering in this particular era defined the word "Challenge."This video review features video gameplay footage of SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 for Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

CGR Undertow LADY SIA review for Game Boy Advance

Lady Sia review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Lady Sia for the Game Boy Advance developed by RFX Interactive and published by TDK Mediactive. When enemy forces are invading your lands, your princess has a few options. Taking them on by herself probably shouldn’t be one of them, but Lady Sia doesn’t seem to care about your opinion. The star of this original actionplatformer and a likely anger management patient, Lady Sia sets off to slash and platform her way through lots of beautiful worlds whilst killing monsters with a sword. So much for diplomacy, right? Lady Sia has a very familiar design, but its lack of originality is offset by its fantastic presentation. The game boasts creative environments presented with a hand-drawn look that really pulls you into its worlds. Lady Sia is like Mega Man with a sword. And that’s nothing to mess with. Lady Sia is a single-player game on the GBA.This video review features video gameplay footage of Lady Sia for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
