Digu Dagu?) is an arcade game developed and published by Namco in Japan in 1982 for Namco Galaga hardware. It was later published outside of Japan by Atari. A popular game based on a simple concept, it was also released as a video game on many consoles. Objective:ObjectiveThe objective of Dig Dug is to eliminate underground-dwelling monsters by inflating them until they pop, or by dropping rocks on them. There are two kinds of enemies in the game: Pookas, round red monsters (said to be modeled after tomatoes) who wear yellow goggles, and Fygars, green dragons who can breathe fire. The player's character is Dig Dug, dressed in white and blue, and able to dig tunnels through destructible environments. Dig Dug is killed if he is caught by either Pooka or Fygar, burned by a Fygar's fire, or crushed by a rock.A partially inflated monster will gradually deflate and recover after a few seconds, during which time the player can pass safely through it. The monsters normally crawl through the tunnels in the dirt but can turn into ghostly eyes and travel slowly through the dirt. The last enemy on a level will try to escape off the top left of the screen.More points are awarded for popping an enemy further down in the dirt (the levels are color-coded). In addition, Fygars are worth double points if exploded horizontally, since they can only breathe fire horizontally in the direction they are facing. Extra points are also awarded for dropping rocks on enemies in order to eliminate them rather than inflating them. If one enemy is killed by the rock, it is worth 1000 points. The next two add 1500 points each, and any after that add 2000. The act of digging is itself worth points, giving 10 points for each block dug, so some players do as much of it as possible in situations where the threat from the remaining monsters is minimal. After the player drops two rocks, fruits and vegetables and other edible bonus items, such as Galaxian flagships appear in the center of the play field, and can be collected for points if the player is able to reach them before they disappear. These edible bonus items will appear even if the rocks fail to hit any enemies. In some versions of the game, the most points attainable from a single bonus fruit is 8,000 from the pineapple. If the player drops a rock on a foe at the same time he pumps it to death, a glitch will occur whereupon all enemies will promptly disappear, but the game will not progress and the player will be free to dig through all dirt. Attaining the next level of play will then remain impossible, but the glitch can be resolved by forcing a rock to drop.Level numbers are represented by flowers in the top right of the screen and each new level is noted at the beginning of each stage on the bottom right (as seen in this article's screenshot graphic). In successive levels more monsters appear on each screen and they move quicker. A level is completed successfully when the last monster is dispatched or succeeds in fleeing. In the coin-operated version the game ends on round 256 (round 0), since this board is essentially an unplayable kill screen. At the start of the level a Pooka is placed directly on top of where the player starts, with no way to kill it.

I also figured out how much the carnival actually pays for the prizes so even if you win, you lose. And then I visited the carnival with my professional baseball playing buddy to dominate all the games. The Nerd breaks down the troubled history of the Swordquest franchise and demands closure on one of the gaming world's greatest unfinished stories.Visit our website! http:cinemassacre.com James Twitter! https:twitter.comcinemassacre Mike's Twitter! https:twitter.comMike_Matei Our Google+ https:plus.google.com+JamesNintendoNerd Our Tumblr! http:cinemassacreproductions.tumblr.com Our Facebook Fanpage! https:www.facebook.comCinemassacre Our Instagram! http:instagram.comcinemassacre Our Reddit! http:www.reddit.comrTheCinemassacre Our Flattr! https:flattr.comprofilecinemassacreCheck out these other classic AVGN episodes!AVGN: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=XjUz8IT0CYgAVGN: Top Gun https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=ofM11nPzFo0AVGN: Friday the 13th https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=1raUvGNbZFgAVGN: The Power Glove https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=MYDuy7wM8GkAVGN: Bible Games https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=LkNvQYiM6bwAVGN: Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=M1tU61Nyv1wAVGN: NES Accessories https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=9kBMscW_dVgAVGN Batman https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=JFvtk5toGJgAVGN: Ghosts N' Goblins https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=94Y6y1MOoEoAVGN Tiger Electronic Games https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=_u5dtBtG9yU

Custom MAME Arcade Cabinet

A few facts not in the video- The monitor is 19" - I also replaced the glass with plexiglass and mounted the TV remote on the side (as seen in the video) - There is a smart power bar inside which shuts off the tv monitor and speakers when the computer is powered off. - I also have a USB wifi dongle on there, so this thing DOES have access to the internet - The total cost was aprox. $1000 CDN - Around 40 hours I put into it all together (most of it was software configuration) spread out over the course of 3 months - Parts were purchased from Ultimarc - Stickers purchased from GameOnGrafix - I'm using U360 Sticks. I originally had Mag-Stik Plus joysticks and replaced them because they sucked for console gaming. - I also created pictures which show all the controls for each system. I'm still trying to get those to pop up during pause. - Google Hyperspin project for the software. - I cant stress enough how terrible Dell computers are. I was using one because It only cost me $30.

Classic Game Room ARCADE MACHINE MONEY BOX review

Classic Game Room reviews the PAY-TO-PLAY ARCADE MACHINE MONEY BOX from Paladone which is a mini arcade cabinet version of the videogame, EARTH DEFENDERS! Defend Earth from alien invaders one coin at a time. This pseudo-bank is a cool way to save coins or get your coworkers to fork over some cash for arcade gaming time. Each coin (the machine has no idea what kind of coin you insert) gives players 2 minutes of Earth Defenders action. The video game itself is a Space Invaders inspired game that plays like one of the old LCD 80's handhelds. CGR video review of Earth Defenders Pay to Play Arcade Machine Money Box has video review footage of the Earth Defenders arcade machine Money Box in HD action. Available from ThinkGeek.com
