Classic Game Room HD reviews LA MACHINEGUNS, part of Sega's Arcade Hits Pack for Nintendo Wii. It's the year 2025 and androids have attacked Los Angeles!!! Oh no!! It's up to you and your space-scooter and machine guns to blow them up and save the future from explody robots! LA Machineguns is an arcade shooting game where you and a friend insert quarters and mow down enemies with vibrating machine guns. This version on the Wii comes with Gunblade NY in the Arcade Hits Pack from Sega and works well with the Wii Zapper. Rack up points and see how your score compares to others in the global leader board thing. This CGR review of Sega's L.A. MACHINEGUNS has gameplay from LA Machineguns on Nintendo Wii showing L.A. Machine Guns game play footage in action.

Classic Game Room HD HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2 3 for Wii

Classic Game Room HD reviews HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2 AND 3 RETURN for Nintendo Wii! This Wii game has 2 Sega arcade shooting games on one disc, awesome! Blast zombies and the undead with your Wii controller tucked into plastic firearms and send them flying through the air in pieces. Awesome voice acting, campy writing and fantastic on-rails shooting action make this game a must play for the Nintendo Wii. Play with one or two guns (or just use the Wii controller, you don't need a "gun" accessory). CGR is playing with the Komodo Buckshot Lock and Load shotgun for Wii, player 2 is using the Wii Zapper. Zombies are blown into red and green chunks and scores are earned, arcade action at its finest! Pick this game up for a very affordable price and enjoy nearly unlimited replay value, arcade modes, original modes and boss modes. This CGR review of House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return for Wii has gameplay from House of the Dead by Sega showing this shooting gun game on the Wii in action. Does not use light guns, but instead uses the Wii sensor bar to work like a light gun. Dope!

game | Ghost Squad Wii

Ghost Squad Wii

So here comes the belated description...This is Ghost Squad, an AM2 Sega Chihiro (Xbox hardware) arcade game originally released in 2004 and now finally on the Wii circa 2008. While this sadly shows it is yet another highly entertaining light gun game from Sega. What I like about Ghost Squad in particular is that it doesn't take itself seriously. At all. This could be said about the more recent House of the Dead Overkill but I think Headstrong Games knew ultimately they were making an awesome 70s B-Movie into a game without realising it.Ghost Squad for the most part plays like Virtua Cop with a sub-machine gun. You move about around each stage automatically while relying on fast reflexes to kill enemies, save hostages, disarm bombs and pick up any bonuses along the way. Thanks to the arcade game's preference of a bulky SMG, this game also unsurprisingly works really well with the Wii Zapper and I highly recommend you use one - especially if you intend to play the training missions sans cursor.Anyway I think Ghost Squad is well worth a try. It runs like a charm on the Wii's hardware, has some hilariously camp dialogue too, and while maybe on the short side of things, can be picked up with ease for less than £20 now.

game | LA Machine Guns Wii

LA Machine Guns Wii

The second game included in the Sega Arcade Hits Pack. Apparently LA Machinguns is the sequel to Gunblade NY, one of my favourite on-rails shooters of the 90s.I had never played LA Machineguns before I owned this collection, so I cannot say how it compares to the arcade version. What I will say is that this sequel doesn't quite capture the same instant accessibility of the original. It is a little lacking for some reason. Maybe it is the lack of voice overs on the characters, maybe it is because the frame-rate is more erratic, perhaps it is because the game isn't really that much different from the original Gunblade besides featuring some graphical polish.LA Machine Guns has visually aged decently for a Sega Model 3 game of the late 90s but its gameplay hasn't and I honestly haven't played it quite as much as Gunblade either. Whatever though, I'm sure those of you who just like their on-rails shooters will have no problem with this eitherway.

L.A. Machineguns Rage of the Machines Wii Playthrough NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Sega's 2010 light gun shooter for the Nintendo Wii, L.A. Machineguns: Rage of the Machines. Released as part of the compilation "Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack".Played through on the default difficulty settings with all five stages cleared. What a great pair of arcade shooters - this was well worth the $30 asking price when it was first released. The Wii controller is the perfect fit for both of them. LA Machineguns was quite an upgrade over Gunblade NY, though, having been released in 1999 on Sega's Model 3 hardware (the same hardware that drove AM2's Virtua Fighter 3). As good as Gunblade looks, this one is significantly more detailed, colorful, and just as smooth. In terms of gameplay, it's easily just as fun, and really provided an appropriate close to 90s in showing off just how deserving Sega's domination of 3D arcade games was. _____ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Arcade Hits Pack: Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video review of Arcade Hits Pack: Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns for Nintendo Wii developed and published by SEGA.Arguably the greatest strength of the Wii Remote, its pointer made the system a great fit for home console adaptations of arcade light gun games. In 2010, SEGA packaged two of those games on one Wii disc for Arcade Hits Pack: Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns. For Wii owners who love games like House of the Dead and Ghost Squad, this is a great addition to your library. The two games feature similar gameplay in which players, from an aerial perspective, blast enemies above and below. It’s a fast-paced game that provides a frantic on-rails experience. Arcade Hits Pack: Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns features single-player and local multiplayer play on the Nintendo Wii.This video review features video gameplay footage of Arcade Hits Pack: Gunblade NY & L.A. Machineguns for Nintendo Wiiand audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

game | Gunblade N.Y. L.A. Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack Wii

Gunblade N.Y. L.A. Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack Wii

Loading times were removed for your consideration and enjoyment. I decided to shift my attention a little bit to what I believe is one of the most underrated consoles, the Nintendo Wii. I had always seen L.A. Machineguns in the arcade back in the day, but never had any desire to play it. It actually looked kinda dumb to me at the time versus other games like Virtua Cop and House of the Dead which appeared to be more involving since you had to think about reloading your gun and not shooting innocent people. L.A. Machineguns just seemed totally mindless......and sometimes it is but as it turns out it is alot of fun. I first played L.A. Machineguns with my wife at an arcade about 3 years ago while I was on vacation in Florida. After playing it once I couldn't stop playing it until all my tokens were gone. The game's fast pace mixed with that gun that recoiled at the launch of each bullet was just too much fun. After we left the arcade, I thought "Why in the world is that game NOT on the Wii?" About a year later I see an announcement that it was in fact being ported to the Wii.Much to my surprise, not much was lost in translation even though one of the best parts is now missing. The gun from the arcade. I'm not going to say nothing was lost but certainly not as much as I thought. The rumble of the Wii remote is set up kind of clever to where you only feel rumble when your bullets hit something like an enemy, ground, or water. If you are shooting at the sky you feel nothing since the Wiimote cannot even come close to reproducing the kind of recoil that the gun in the arcade had. It actually works better than if the rumble was constant for some reason. Also both games run in native 16:9 ratio instead of 4:3 in the arcade. The graphics are still beautiful to this day. Gunblade N.Y. is not as stunning as L.A. Machineguns since Gunblade ran on Sega's model 2 hardware and L.A. Machineguns ran on Model 3. I haven't talked much about Gunblade simply because I have had no history with it prior to playing it in this compilation, however that does not mean that Gunblade is any lesser of a game. Only in graphics does it trail behind L.A. Machineguns but is still equally as fun and certainly makes this compilation even more valuable. The only think that these games have might going against them is the fact that credits are unlimited. Some may say the games are too short and easy. In the menu you can select 1 of 3 difficulty levels. Normal, hard, and expert. I play both of these games on hard in this capture. The game gets harder but you still have unlimited credits. However you can offset this by not being a pansy and limiting your credits or try to make it through on one. The game does reward you with things like even faster rapid fire for doing well. Not sure if there are others yet. Bottom line is that this is a fantastic arcade compilation. The game feels better using a gun shell like the Zapper or the Thrustmaster (the one I have). Though you don't feel the heavy recoil that the arcade had, you can help compensate for this by turning the volume up loud on a well adjusted sound system. Ask me how I know :)
