HyperScan console review. http:www.ClassicGameRoom.com Classic Game Room reviews the Mattel HyperScan video game console released in 2006 and discontinued in 2007. Aimed at kids, the HyperScan was a budget priced gaming system that used cd based videogames combined with collectible cards to play games. The cards look nice and the concept is interesting but the hardware and game library are truly awful beyond beyond imagination.

Philips CD-i review! http:classicgameroom.comvaultpagesvaultpagephilips-cd-i-console-philips-cd-iThe Philips Compact Disc Interactive was released at the dawn of the optical media era and predates the PlayStation, Panasonic 3DO and Sega CD. There's a handful of interesting games like Lemmings, a Zelda and Mario game, as well as numerous interactive media CDs and music performances. Not a good collector's system but interesting.

game | Classic Game Room HD ATARI 5200 Console review

Classic Game Room HD ATARI 5200 Console review

Classic Game Room HD reviews the ATARI 5200 video game system from 1982, the successor to the Atari 2600. This is the 4 controller model which is the size of a container ship and uses the most absurd powertv switcher hookup ever created. There are many things to loathe about this unique game console and one thing to love, its an ATARI!!! It plays hundreds of Atari 5200 game cartridges, many of which are slightly upgraded versions of popular Atari 2600 games like Missile Command, Vanguard and Space Invaders. Others are awesome games which look like early NES action games like Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom and The Dreadnaught Factor. There are some Atari 5200 exclusives as well. Collecting for the 5200 is not terribly expensive, even though the Atari 5200 is considered a commercial failure there are still many out there and they are such an amazing pain to own that people want to get rid of them. Collectors benefit from this as 5200 games and consoles on eBay are easy to find, but working controllers are not. The Achilles heel of the Atari 5200 is the terrible, analog, non-self-centering controller which is difficult to replace because of the keypad. You can buy refurbished Atari 5200 controllers or the expensive Wico aftermarket Atari 5200 controller if you are really ambitious. The fact is the Atari 5200 has some great games, is a joy to collect for and is so large that it demands respect. It looks like a Laserdisc player combined with a dishwasher and is hard to miss when taking up your entire living room.

Fairchild Channel F system II review! http:classicgameroom.comvaultpagesvaultpagefairchild-channel-f-system-ii-fairchild-channel-fClassic Game Room reviews the FAIRCHILD CHANNEL F video game system from the 1970s! Originally released in 1976 the Channel F is one of the first cartridge based video game systems in the universe! It looks like a VCR but it plays old school video games! The Fairchild Channel F is one of the earliest video game consoles and boasts a fine wood grained finish and enormous buttons. It plays a small library of mostly two-player games on cartridges that look like 8-tracks, groovy!!

Classic Game Room PANASONIC 3DO console review model FZ 1

Panasonic 3DO review. Classic Game Room reviews the PANASONIC 3DO video game console model FZ-1 released in 1993. The Panasonic 3DO has an awesome library of video games like Road Rash, Myst and Novastorm but unfortunately was released with a $700 price tag in the early 90's, yikes! Failure in the marketplace followed but the awesome games still arrived on the Panasonic 3DO. Panasonic 3DO video review features Panasonic 3DO model FZ-1 (as well as comparison shot vs. model FZ-10). Prone to breakage and difficult to repair, the Panasonic 3DO is for serious collectors looking to relive the early 90's in style with some awesome games.

Classic Game Room RETRON 3 SNES, NES and GENESIS Game Console Review P...

Part 1 of 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews the Hyperkin RETRON 3. Part 2 here http:www.youtube.comwatch?v=GiTlZgz_CUo This is a video game console that plays Super Nintendo SNES, Nintendo 8-bit NES and 16-bit Sega Genesis video games. It even has S-Video (which works for Genesis and SNES) as well as standard composite video. The Retron3 comes with 2 wireless controllers which are acceptable for NES games but have poor Genesis button mapping. More importantly though, the Retron 3 allows you to play with your original controllers for Genesis, NES and SNES!! Now, that's a feature!! This CGR review of the Hyperkin Retron 3 shows gameplay from several video games including Gaiares on Genesis, Ultraman on SNES and Zanac on Nintendo Entertainment System NES. This video shows the s-video quality of the Hyperkin Retron3 compared to a modified Sega Genesis Model 1 and demonstrates the audio quality. Video quality is very impressive and audio is not bad, although it lacks some of the dynamics that the original Genesis produces. Overall performance was awesome and CGR thinks that this console should not be overlooked when shopping for replacement old school systems. Flexibility, quality and original controller compatibility make the Retron 3 a bombastic classic video game console.

game | Classic Game Room X MEN review for HYPERSCAN!

Classic Game Room X MEN review for HYPERSCAN!

X-Men HyperScan review! http:www.ClassicGameRoom.com Classic Game Room reviews X-MEN for the Mattel HyperScan from 2006, one of the worst fighting games ever created! Grab your HyperScan cards, scan them until they work, wait five hours for loading and fight!!!! Collect cards for the HyperScan in booster packs and play as X-Men and super villains like Wolverine, Jean Grey, Magneto and more! This one and two player 2D fighting game has awful controls and feels like it was made for 2-year olds. Hammer one of the four buttons on the HyperScan controller over and over again to win matches and laugh at the hilarious dialog. X-Men is the game that was packed in with the HyperScan game console and demonstrates the power (or lack thereof) contained with the mighty HyperScan. Collect cards, scan and save your stats on the cards (like Sylanders), the HyperScan may have been a neat idea but suffers from terrible execution, horrendous loading times and lousy games like X-Men.

game | CGRundertow XAVIX PORT Video Game Console Review

CGRundertow XAVIX PORT Video Game Console Review

XaviX Port hardware review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of the XaviX Port video game console from SSD Company Limited. Although it looks like a cheap knockoff of the Nintendo Wii, the XaviX Port was actually released in 2004. That's two years before the Wii, which means the makers of the XaviX Port either had the idea first or they had a Flux Capacitor. The XaviX Port is a motion controlled console with pixelated graphics and lots of stupid plastic peripherals. It's the Wii, had the Wii actually been the Super Nintendo. This video review features video footage of the XaviX Port video game console and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.Check out more reviews from Classic Game Room at: http:www.YouTube.comCGRundertow and http:www.YouTube.comClassicGameRoom.
