http:www.mamecade.com Exidy Crossbow Arcade Game Review. Crossbow is one of Exidy's best light gun arcade games. In 1983 it was up against Dragon's Lair Gyruss and Crystal Castles for your coins. Using digitized speech and a realistic crossbow attached to the arcade machine, Crossbow was an instant eye catcher at the arcades.Follow me on Twitter: http:twitter.comMamecadeJoin me on Facebook: http:www.facebook.compagesMamecade152233241501919Visit my website: http:www.Mamecade.comJoin the Forum Community: http:forums.mamecade.comMusic: Welcome to the show- Kevin MacLeod. http:www.mamecade.com Exidy's Chiller was a gore soaked shooter. The arcade machine used a full size light gun to blast away at tied and bound victims, sending chunks of their flesh flying. Using fully digitized sounds of screams and wails along with its gruesome visuals Chiller left an indelible mark in arcade history. Top 15 Arcade Games of the 1980s

RE-UPLOADED due to an issue with the credits music. I apologize in advance. So, how do I follow up my BIGGEST COUNTDOWN EVER? Well, since this is February, the month of love, let's talk about something *I* love...arcade games. Specifically, old-school arcade games. These games were simple, addictive, and just plain fun...well, the good ones were, anyway. so here's my list of what I think are the best arcade games of the 1980's.Also, I tested out a new transition and number text style. Let me know if I should stick with it.All games, media, and characters shown are property of the original copyright owners. MCIHAD Chiller The Darkest Light Gun Game

"In this lesser known horror-themed light-gun game, players are prompted to mutilate torture victims for points, and-… Jesus, really? And you get more points for killing them creatively? And this was in the late 80's, no less, in public arcades! How did it take until Mortal Kombat for a big debate to begin on the subject of video game violence? Well, you can enjoy this week's LP series as our reviewers lose their souls to the unmitigated horror that is Chiller, the game that is (probably not coincidentally) the final game produced by the now defunct developer Exidy.""Mom Can I Have Another Dollar" is a show where we play an old arcade game and see how far we get on one dollar, and if we like it, we ask for another. This week we play “Chiller”.

game | Crossbow, 1983 Exidy 20 From 83 Part 7

Crossbow, 1983 Exidy 20 From 83 Part 7

Awesome early 1st person light gun shooter with a fantasy setting and awesome, spooky voice samples! Protect your elfwarriordwarfwizardetc. friends from harm as various creatures show up to attack them; they can't defend themselves, so you have to completely babysit the little pussies by taking out any dangers. Not all creatures are dangerous, so for each setting (desert, haunted town, volcano, bridge, cave, jungle, castle, castle hall, boss room) you must figure out which creatures will most likely directly threaten your friends and take them out whenever they appear. Examples are ghosts, wizard fire and lightning bolts in the haunted town, and bugs, scorpions and birds in the desert (mostly the bugs and scorpions). If you lose an ally to enemies or their projectiles, you can regain one sometimes at the completion of a scene, or just get a new one after leading everyone across safely (more responsibility for these wussies? Gee, thanks!) You shoot at the colored areas at the bottom of the screen as you select your route: the colored area indicates the path you'll choose. You can very easily go back over an area you've already passed, making your quest frustratingly longer! So I've taken the liberty to find the quickest path for you: choose the green path to start at the desert, then after completing the desert stage choose the blue path to go to the cave. Complete the cave and choose the blue path again, to go to the castle. Enter the castle and then choose the red path. You'll go to the castle hallway. This is the biggest pain in the ass in the game: when you get your allies to stand on the trap door you must shoot the white light that appears to the left of the statue. While you're waiting for your allies to get there, you not only have to shoot falling swords, but a dragon breathes fire at them, and worst of all, spears repeatedly fly out of the wall at your buddies and are kind of hard to hit! But once you've gotten your allies to fall through, you face the boss of the game: a giant head. Shoot his eyes repeatedly until they're gone, and he dies.. only to return at the end of the next go-round! Of course, the difficulty is ramped up considerably as you go through it all again. Tough shooter (well, not so hard until you get inside the castle) that really set the bar for color light gun shooters. This is the first in a long set of similar light gun shooters by Exidy; others of note are CHEYENNE and the highly controversial CHILLER. Fun, influential game but some of those targets are small or thin and tough to take out! YOU WILL DIE!!!

Digitized Speech in Game Boy and GBC Games NintendoComplete

This video is my tribute to the creative forces that squashed voice samples into Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges. Even though they don't appear often (especially in the original Game Boy), they are surprisingly high quality - especially compared to some of the worse examples in NES games. Like my video that highlights sampled voices in NES games (https:www.youtube.comwatch?v=cpd87e2PJnE), this is not meant to be an all-inclusive look at usage. It merely shows a sampling to give a representative look at how it was used. The games shown are: Boxxle 2 Hammerin' Harry Joe & Mac Krusty's Fun House Ren & Stimpy Space Cadet Adventures Ren & Stimpy Veediots! Sports Illustrated Football & Baseball Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Back From the Sewers Bart Simpson's Escape from Camp Deadly Crystalis Dragon's Lair Klax Mortal Kombat 4 The Muppets Oddworld Adventures Perfect Dark Pokemon Yellow Resident Evil Gaiden Warlocked Woody Woodpecker Cannon FodderThis was fun to put together, I hope you enjoy it!Oh, and check out that last one, and then remember to pick your jaw up off the floor. ___ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Jungle King Jungle Hunt Pirate Pete Arcade Game Review MAMECADE 52

Jungle King - Jungle Hunt arcade game review mame. http:www.mamecade.com This is a journalistic review and commentary showcasing the many similarities and differences of Jungle King, Jungle Hunt, and Pirate Pete. All gameplay footage is for journalistic purposes and and falls under the fair use guidelines.Taito Corp released Jungle King in 1982 with a vine swinging loin clothed hero. The company then revamped Jungle King replacing the the main character with an explorer and called it Jungle Hunt. Jungle Hunt eventually went on to be ported to most home consoles and computers of the 80's. Not satisfied with Jungle Hunt Taito continued to modify jungle King and came up with Pirate Pete. There were some minor game changes in Pirate Pete but the over all game play was Jungle King at its core.Join me on Facebook: http:www.facebook.compagesMamecade152233241501919Follow me on Twitter: http:twitter.comMamecadeVisit my website: http:www.Mamecade.comJoin the Forum Community: http:forums.mamecade.comMusic: Welcome to the Show - Kevin MacLeod. game | Chiller, 1986 Exidy

Chiller, 1986 Exidy

Another in the ouvre of Exidy shooting gallery-type games, this one is super-controversial due to its high level of violence and gore. Shoot at not only ghouls, ghosts, monsters, rats, etc. but innocent victims of torture, too! Also you can speed up their demise by activating devices to off them like guillotines, head presses, etc. Shoot enough targets to meet your quota by the time the time meter expires to go to the next stage (a total of 4). To enhance gameplay, there are 8 special targets you can shoot, and in between levels you can kind of catch a glimpse of the targets for each level. Once they are all uncovered in a level (and each one shot is indicated by a white asterisk) you get to play a slot machine for a chance to get more points or even win a free game. Once all special targets are uncoveredshot in all the levels you get to shoot various objects flying through the air for lots more points. If you didn't hit all the special objects in a round, don't worry; if you beat all 4 levels you'll cycle through them again and you can pick off the rest when you return to that level. If you run out of time and continue all the uncoveredshot special items are still unlocked for you. All in all, this is a very playable game.. but man, it is super-gory and disturbing! This preceded Mortal Kombat by a number of years, and is far more disturbing IMHO! Give it a try.. and keep a barf bag handy just in case.
